Pay Travel:  $3000 - $3500 Gross weekly

Position Overview

Seeking an experienced CVOR Registered Nurse to support the Cardiovascular Operating Room/Perioperative team at a medical center in Los Angeles. The ideal candidate should have strong experience working in a CVOR environment and be comfortable providing perioperative nursing care in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to patients undergoing cardiovascular and cardiothoracic surgical procedures.
• Prepare the OR, surgical equipment, supplies, instruments, and medications before procedures.
• Assist the surgical team during open-heart, vascular, thoracic, and other cardiovascular procedures.
• Maintain strict sterile technique and ensure compliance with infection-control and surgical-safety protocols.
• Monitor patients before, during, and after surgical procedures and promptly identify changes in patient condition.
• Collaborate closely with cardiothoracic surgeons, anesthesiologists, surgical technologists, perfusionists, and other members of the OR team.
• Perform appropriate scrub and/or circulating RN responsibilities, based on assignment and experience.
• Verify patient identity, procedure, surgical site, consents, allergies, and required documentation before surgery.
• Assist with positioning, surgical counts, specimen handling, medication administration, and documentation.
• Maintain accurate and timely perioperative documentation in accordance with facility policies.
• Support emergency and high-acuity cardiovascular procedures in a fast-paced operating-room environment.
• Participate in surgical counts and ensure all instruments, needles, and supplies are accounted for before and after procedures.
• Provide appropriate handoff communication to PACU/ICU and other receiving teams.
• Follow hospital policies, AORN standards, patient-safety practices, and regulatory requirements

Requirements

• Registered Nurse (RN)
• CVOR / Cardiovascular Operating Room experience
• Perioperative nursing experience
• BLS certification
• Valid California RN License
