RN Long Term Care Educator - CNA Training Instructor
Living Center South - Geneva, NY Finger Lakes Health | Full-Time Mon-Fri Days.
Finger Lakes Health is seeking a Registered Nurse to serve as the Educator and Instructor for our Certified Nursing Assistant CNA Training Program. This position teaches 4-week CNA classes held 7 times per year at Living Center South in Geneva, NY. The RN Educator provides both classroom and clinical instruction to support the development of high-quality long-term care staff.
Responsibilities:
• Teach and supervise CNA students in classroom lab and clinical settings. • Prepare lesson plans, teaching materials, and skills demonstrations. • Evaluate student progress and maintain required documentation. • Ensure compliance with New York State training requirements. • Support new CNAs and long-term care staff with ongoing education and competency assessments. • Model excellent customer service, professionalism, and the principles of a Healing Environment.
Qualifications:
Education: Required: Associate Degree or Diploma in Nursing RN. Preferred: BSN or willingness to pursue.
License & Certifications: Current: New York State Registered Nurse RN license. BLS Certification: AHA. Willing to obtain BLS Instructor Certification within 1 year.
Experience: Required: Minimum 2 years RN experience in a long-term care setting. Demonstrated ability to teach adult learners through one of the following:
Preferred: Experience teaching a CNA Training Program.
Skills: • Strong communication and leadership skills. • Ability to develop curriculum, assess learning needs, and evaluate outcomes. • Comfortable using audiovisual equipment and creating visual teaching materials. • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure. • Professional, respectful, and able to work well in a team environment. • Computer literacy required, with experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint preferred.
Population-Specific Competencies: Knowledge and skills to support adult and geriatric patient needs. Ability to supervise and guide staff students providing age-appropriate care.

Salary: $80,000.00 - $85,000.00
