Job Summary and Qualifications

The Patient Safety Director is responsible for facilitating the transition from a retrospective, reactive model for risk management to a prospective, proactive loss prevention, harm reducing patient safety program. Promotes a culture of safety. Directs other within the facility towards process improvements that support the elimination of medical/ health care errors and other factors that contribute to unintended adverse patient outcomes. Initiates and oversees the development of a comprehensive patient safety improvement program inclusive of the analysis and trending of data. This position demonstrates a high degree of responsibility, accountability and autonomy. 

What qualifications you will need:

• Current Florida license as Registered Nurse or Recognized Compact Licensure (subject to Florida State Licensing Requirements, including/not limited to ongoing eligibility and duration provisions)
• Bachelors Degree from an accredited School of Nursing 
• Minimum 3 years of clinical Quality, Performance Improvement, and/ or Risk Management experience in an acute care Hospital setting
• Other-Fingerprint Required
• (CPPS) Certified Professional in Patient Safety must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date
