Pay Rate: $65 - $73 per hour
Shift Timings: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM (EOW 4th Shift per month)

Summary:

• The ER Clinical Nurse is a Registered Professional Nurse who provides safe, competent quality care based on nursing theory and research to a designated group of patients and significant others.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver patient care by incorporating the tenets of the professional practice model of Relationship Centered Care and through the application of the nursing process based upon theory, research, evidence-based practice, and approved organizational nursing standards.
• Assess and evaluate patient care needs and apply critical thinking skills in patient care management.
• Integrate relevant assessment and intervention skills in the delivery of nursing care.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team in the development, implementation, and evaluation of the plan of care.
• Prioritize all aspects of patient care including teaching, rounding, coaching, planning “after hospital care,” and delegating to others as appropriate.
• Educate patients and caregivers about their plan of care, transition of care, promotion of health, and prevention of disease.
• Communicate effectively and professionally with patients, family, and all members of the Interdisciplinary Patient Care Team.
• Manage assignments within the Care Delivery Model of Modified Primary Nursing and demonstrate allocation of material resources effectively.
• Role model the tenets of Relationship Centered Care through various actions including Admission Welcome, Bedside Shift Report, and Purposeful Hourly Rounding.
• Establish and maintain a therapeutic relationship with the patient and family.
• Use evidence-based practices to increase understanding of patients' perceptions of care.
• Practice safe and efficient patient-centered care, identifying and escalating barriers and opportunities for improvement.
• Demonstrate clinical skills and knowledge crucial to quality and safety in the patient population served.
• Engage in formal and informal peer and institutional review processes.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to create and implement quality improvement projects, evidence-based practice activities, and nursing research studies.
• Contribute to quality and safety practices and required compliance measures.

Requirements:

• Must have 2 years of direct experience in Pediatric ER.
• Must have a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
• NYS RN License.
• ACLS and BLS certifications required.
• NIHSS Certification required.

Preferred Skills:

• 1 year travel experience for EPIC experience highly preferred.
• Trauma experience is a plus.
• Certifications such as TNCC, ENPC, CEN are a plus.
