The Registered Nurse I is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care. This role requires utilizing the nursing process in accordance with hospital standards and unit policies/procedures to monitor and evaluate patient functional status.
Job Responsibilities
Utilize the nursing process to care for patients.
Assess, organize, and complete patient care with consideration for patient age, cultural, and psychosocial factors.
Document steps of the nursing process using proper medical terminology.
Address problems and progress toward goals.
Facilitate patient discharge through timely, appropriate referrals and utilization of patient education resources, suitable to patient age and cultural/psychosocial factors.
Collaborate with other disciplines as appropriate.
Support unit/hospital goals through PI and educational activities by attending in-services, meeting unit education standards, and completing variance reports.
Exercise independent judgment in planning the sequence of operations and making minor decisions in a complex technical or professional field.
Work directly with patients and/or customers.
Engage with internal customers via telephone or face-to-face interaction.
Collaborate with other healthcare professionals and staff.
Required Skills & Experience
Six (6) to twelve (12) months of RN experience. Entry-level applicants will not be considered.
Working knowledge of general disease state management processes, bio-psychosocial model, and clinical pathways.
Effective interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
Ability to organize and prioritize work in an effective and efficient manner.
Detail-oriented as required in the examination of clinical and numerical data.
Preferred Skills & Experience
Previous emergency room experience.
Schedule Notes
Night shift: 7 PM - 7 AM
Requires 1 year of experience in an emergency room, preferably in a Trauma 1 setting.
Seeking a team player who can process instructions quickly and possesses a strong personality.
Relocation bonus available for candidates with 1 year of experience and residing 71 miles away from the center, with a 2-year commitment.
