About the Role:

As a Registered Nurse in Infusion Oncology at Quincy Medical Group, you will play a critical role in providing specialized infusion care to oncology and hematology patients. Working closely with oncologists, advanced practice providers, pharmacists, and the oncology care team, you will administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and supportive infusion therapies while ensuring patient safety, comfort, and education throughout treatment.

Schedule & Work Environment

• Full-time position, Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, with one half-day scheduled each week.
• No routine weekends or holidays.
• Rotating pump call schedule.
• Infusion oncology environment focused on chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and supportive infusion treatments.

Primary Responsibilities

• Administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and other hazardous drug therapies in accordance with established oncology protocols and safety standards.
• Administer supportive infusion therapies including electrolytes, iron infusions, hydration, blood products, and other prescribed treatments.
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments before, during, and after infusion treatments.
• Monitor laboratory values, treatment parameters, and patient condition to ensure safe administration of therapies.
• Recognize, assess, and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition, infusion reactions, and treatment-related complications.
• Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, side effects, symptom management, and follow-up care.
• Collaborate with providers, pharmacists, and clinical team members to coordinate comprehensive oncology care.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and adherence to oncology nursing best practices.
• Provide pump troubleshooting support through participation in a rotating after-hours pump call schedule following certification and competency completion.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support infusion oncology operations.

Qualifications

• Current Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license required.
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program required.
• Current CPR certification required.
• Previous infusion, oncology, medical-surgical, critical care, or specialty nursing experience preferred.
• Strong assessment, critical thinking, and patient education skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating within a multidisciplinary care team.
• Commitment to providing compassionate, patient-centered oncology care.
• Experience with electronic medical records preferred.

The compensation for this role includes a base pay range of $26.25 - $39.38 per hour, with actual pay determined by factors such as skills, experience, education, certifications, geographic location, and internal equity. Additional compensation may be available through shift differentials, call pay, bonuses, and other incentives. Base pay is only a portion of the total rewards package.
