What Youll Bring to the Table:
- Current RN license in the state of practice
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association
- ACLS certification from the American Heart Association
- Experience in cardiovascular surgery, including using the Terumo system for endoscopic vein and radial artery harvesting
- Ability to effectively delegate, communicate, and collaborate within interdisciplinary teams
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and sound judgment
- Demonstrated self-direction and excellent time management
- Effective interpersonal and delegation skills
Preferred But Not Required:
- Certification in a clinical specialty area
- Previous experience as a First Assist in OR with vein and radial harvesting
Educational & Experience Preferences:
- A Diploma in Nursing is required; an Associates or Bachelors degree in Nursing is highly preferred
- Experience in cardiovascular surgery highly desirable
- Ability to float between two locations: St. Tammany H or SMH at Ochsner Blvd.
Additional Requirements:
- On-call availability
- Ability to perform physical demands including lifting (up to 100 pounds), as needed
- Commitment to compliance with all healthcare laws, standards, and safety protocols
- Willingness to work in a fast-paced, healthcare setting with exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and infectious materials
