**CANDIDATES MUST BE AVAILABLE TO WORK 2 OF THE 3 MAJOR HOLIDAYS**- Unit: ER

- Fast track: Yes - 5 beds (2 exam - 3 bed)
- # beds/trauma bays: 26
- # Psych/seclusion rooms: No separate rooms. 2-3 patients per day
- # patients per day: 40-160
- Certs: BLS, ACLS, PALS
- Ratios: 3:1, 4:1
- EMR: Cerner - FirstNet
- Charge Nurse: Yes - no patient assignment
- Nurse Aides/Paramedics: Aides - sitter, patient care. EMAs (Emergency Medical Aides) - EKGs, splints, first aide assistance.
- Security/Patient sitters: 1 always in waiting area.
- Weekend Requirement: Every other
- Holidays: Yes - rotate with core staff
- Scrub Color: Navy Blue - RNs, Hunter Green - aides
- Tele/Monitor Techs: Yes - no monitor techs. Must read and interpret own strips. RN monitor station in center of ER "fish bowl" area.
- Vents: Yes
- ED Physicians/Mid-Levels: 2-3 MDs plus midlevels
- Lab Draws: RNs do all lab draws.
- IV Team: None
- RT 24/7: Yes
- Pharmacy 24/7: Yes
- Shifts: 12 hr shifts. 0630-1900, 0730-2000, 0930-2200, 1130-2400, 1430-0300, 1830-0700.
- Floating: No
- Floor specific orientation: Education Across Lifespan Trauma module1 day with supervisor, 2 with preceptor.
- Common diagnosis / Types of patients: STEMI receiving center, CVA receiving center. Anything from minor complaints to trauma. Level 2 trauma center. Adults and Peds, pediatric floor in hospital, but any critical peds patients are sent to a children's hospital nearby. Patient population is low socioeconomic status. Homeless. See a lot of drug abuse.
- Additional Notes: 55,000 visits per year. Must have 3-5 years of previous ED experience.
