RNC Startup Technician

Job Description:

Job Overview:The HVAC Start-Up Technician will be responsible for assisting with the installation, start-up, diagnostics, maintenance, and repair of various commercial HVAC systems. This role requires strong technical skills, troubleshootingexpertise, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team in a commercial construction environment.

Responsibilities:• Perform system start-ups, observe operation, and interpret gauges and instruments to ensure proper• functionality.• Adjust mechanisms such as valves, controls, and pumps to regulate fluid levels, pressure, and system• temperatures.• Diagnose, service, and repair a variety of commercial HVAC equipment, including:• o DX equipment• o Water source heat pumps• o Gas-fired and electric heating systems• o Direct expansion (DX) air conditioning systems• o Low-voltage temperature control systems• o Air handling equipment and duct systems• o Hydronic cooling and heating systems• o Chilled and hot water systems and boilers• Conduct preventive maintenance, including cleaning condenser and evaporator coils, fans, and ductwork, and• replacing air filters.• Identify and replace defective or worn parts to maintain proper system operation.• Assist with air balancing and assess static pressure in HVAC systems.

Qualifications/Requirements:• HVAC experience preferred• Strong understanding of refrigeration principles, system operations, and troubleshooting techniques.• Experience with air balancing and static pressure diagnostics is a plus.• Familiarity with chilled water, hot water systems, and boiler operations.• Ability to work independently and effectively in a fast-paced environment.

• Work environment is field based. Must be able to work on ladders, lifts to access equipment as needed.• Must be able to lift heavy equipment and work in elevated areas. Requires walking, standing, climbing ladders, and• working at varying heights and outdoor temperatures. Ability to squat, bend, climb, stoop and comfortably lift 75 lbs.• Requires travel between project sites.

Additional Requirement: Ability to pass a full background screening that includes a criminal background, drug test, anddriving record.
