ROAD SERVICE TECHNICIAN

WHEN THE SHOP CAN’T COME TO THEM — YOU DO.

$35–$40/HourCompetitive CommissionEarning Potential Up to $140,000/YearFull-Time | Standard 40-Hour WeekOn-Call Availability RequiredWeekend Availability Is a MustHIRING NOW

TAKE YOUR DIESEL SKILLS ON THE ROAD.

GET PAID TO SOLVE THE PROBLEMS OTHERS CAN’T.

A truck breaks down.

A trailer loses brakes.

A motor coach develops an electrical problem.

Heavy equipment won’t start.

The customer doesn’t need someone to tell them what’s wrong.

THEY NEED SOMEONE WHO CAN FIX IT.

We’re looking for an experienced Diesel Road Service Technician who can bring the tools, diagnostics, experience, and problem-solving ability directly to the customer.

You’ll perform roadside repairs on:

Heavy-Duty Trucks

Trailers

Motor Coaches

Heavy Equipment

Gas & Diesel-Powered Commercial Vehicles

From emergency repairs to advanced diagnostics, you’ll be the technician customers and Dispatch count on to figure it out, fix it right, and get the equipment moving again.

YOUR SKILLS SHOULD PAY.

$35–$40/HOUR

COMPETITIVE COMMISSION

EARNING POTENTIAL UP TO $140,000/YEAR

Road service demands more.

More independence.

More versatility.

More problem-solving.

More responsibility.

And the opportunity to earn should reflect that.

This position combines a strong hourly rate with a competitive commission structure, giving productive technicians the opportunity to build serious annual earnings.

KNOW MORE.

SOLVE MORE.

PRODUCE MORE.

EARN MORE.

YOUR SERVICE TRUCK IS YOUR SHOP.

There’s no lift waiting for you.

No perfectly controlled shop environment.

No parts counter 20 feet away.

You bring the repair operation to the breakdown.

That means showing up prepared, assessing the problem, running diagnostics, developing a repair plan, finding the parts you need, and completing the repair safely in the field.

ROAD SERVICE TAKES A DIFFERENT KIND OF TECH.

You need technical ability.

You need independence.

You need resourcefulness.

And when the first solution doesn’t work...

YOU NEED TO KNOW WHAT TO TRY NEXT.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

DIAGNOSE IT. REPAIR IT. GET THEM ROLLING.

Perform emergency roadside assistance, service, diagnostics, and repairs

Diagnose and repair trucks, trailers, motor coaches, and heavy equipment

Perform brake repairs and service

Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems

Handle tire removal and installation

Perform engine and powertrain repairs

Complete advanced troubleshooting and diagnostic work

Diagnose and service emissions systems

Source necessary parts when they aren’t immediately available in inventory

Test-drive trucks, trailers, and equipment when needed to verify repairs

Follow all required safety procedures and roadside protocols

Maintain constant communication with Dispatch, Parts Counter Specialists, and Management

Process customer payments by credit card terminal when required

Handle customer concerns calmly, quickly, and professionally

Submit documentation, receipts, invoices, and service paperwork promptly

Keep your assigned service truck clean, organized, stocked, and professional

Wash and maintain your truck during available downtime

Report service-truck or equipment problems to management immediately

Follow proper accident and incident procedures when necessary

Maintain a clean and safe mobile workspace

Assist with additional road-service needs as assigned

WE’RE NOT LOOKING FOR A PARTS CHANGER.

WE’RE LOOKING FOR A PROBLEM SOLVER.

A fault code gives you a place to start.

It doesn’t always give you the answer.

Road service requires a technician who can think through the entire problem.

What failed?

Why did it fail?

Is it electrical?

Mechanical?

Fuel?

Air?

Emissions?

Can it be repaired safely on the road?

Does it need to come back to the shop?

THAT’S THE JOB.

We want someone who can combine:

Diagnostic Software

Electrical Testing

Mechanical Knowledge

Hands-On Experience

Critical Thinking

…to get from “It won’t run” to “You’re good to go.”

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING

THE MUST-HAVES:

Valid driver’s license

Current DOT Medical Card

High school diploma or GED

Diesel engine repair training, certification, and/or applicable hands-on experience

Advanced knowledge of gas and diesel engines

Strong understanding of vehicle mechanical systems

Strong understanding of electrical systems

Proficiency using diesel diagnostic software

Comfortable using mechanical and electrical power tools

Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving ability

Strong attention to detail

Basic computer and electronics knowledge

Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Ability to work independently in roadside environments

Ability to communicate effectively with Dispatch, Parts, Management, and customers

Weekend availability

Required on-call availability

WE REALLY WANT TO TALK IF YOU CAN...

Chase Down Electrical Problems

Run Advanced Diagnostics

Handle Brake Repairs

Diagnose Engine & Powertrain Issues

Troubleshoot A/C Systems

Work Through Emissions Problems

Work Confidently on Heavy-Duty Equipment

Make Repairs Without a Full Shop Around You

Solve Problems Independently

Keep Dispatch Informed

Take Care of the Customer

If you read that list and thought...

“THAT’S WHAT I ALREADY DO.”

WE SHOULD TALK.

YOU MAY WORK ALONE.

BUT YOU’RE PART OF A TEAM.

Road Service Technicians spend a lot of time independently in the field.

But great road service depends on communication.

DISPATCH NEEDS TO KNOW:

What did you find?

How long will it take?

Do you need additional support?

PARTS NEEDS TO KNOW:

What failed?

What do you need?

Where can we find it?

MANAGEMENT NEEDS TO KNOW:

Is there a safety concern?

Is your service truck ready?

Does something need immediate attention?

THE CUSTOMER NEEDS TO KNOW:

What happened?

Can you repair it?

What happens next?

The best technicians don’t disappear once they leave the shop.

THEY COMMUNICATE.

THE CUSTOMER IS ALREADY HAVING A BAD DAY.

Their truck is down.

Their schedule is blown.

Their delivery may be late.

Their equipment isn’t making money.

Then you arrive.

Be the professional who makes the situation better.

Stay calm.

Explain what you found.

Give them confidence.

Do the repair correctly.

Treat their equipment with respect.

FIX THE TRUCK.

TAKE CARE OF THE CUSTOMER.

Both matter.

ROADSIDE ISN’T THE SHOP.

It could be hot.

Cold.

Dark.

Wet.

Busy.

Loud.

The truck could be sitting somewhere you’d never choose to work on it.

Traffic could be moving a few feet away.

And you still have to think clearly and work safely.

That’s why road service isn’t for every technician.

We need someone who can stay focused when conditions aren’t perfect.

THE SCHEDULE

FULL-TIME

STANDARD 40-HOUR WORKWEEK

Commercial equipment doesn’t schedule breakdowns for convenient hours.

That means this role requires flexibility.

Weekend availability is a must

On-call availability is required

Additional schedule flexibility may be needed based on service demand

If you want every workday to look exactly the same, this probably isn’t your seat.

But if you like being the person people call when something needs to be SOLVED...

YOU’LL FIT RIGHT IN.

THE FULL PACKAGE

$35–$40/Hour

Competitive Commission

Earning Potential Up to $140,000/Year

Standard 40-Hour Week

Challenging Diagnostics & Repairs

A Role That Rewards Skill & Independence

Opportunity to Grow Your Career

THE CALL COMES IN.

You get the location.

You roll out.

You assess the problem.

Grab the tools.

Run the diagnostics.

Find the failure.

Make the repair.

Verify the fix.

Get the customer moving.

THEN YOU’RE ON TO THE NEXT ONE.

That’s Road Service.

It’s not always easy.

It’s definitely not predictable.

AND IT’S NOT FOR EVERY TECHNICIAN.

But if you’ve got the diesel knowledge...

The diagnostic ability...

The independence...

And the drive to solve problems...

WE’VE GOT A SERVICE TRUCK WAITING.

KNOW DIESEL?

KNOW DIAGNOSTICS?

READY TO TAKE YOUR SKILLS ON THE ROAD?

THEN LET’S TALK.

APPLY TODAY.

FIND THE PROBLEM. MAKE THE REPAIR. GET THEM MOVING.
