Robotic Welder Operator
Pay: $20.00–$21.00 per hour
Shift: 1st & 2nd Shift (2nd shift will have $1.00 shift premium)
Employment Type: Temp-To-Hire
Position Summary
We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Robotic Welder Operator to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring automated Miller and Lincoln robotic welding systems to produce high-quality metal components. Candidates should have previous robotic welding experience, strong MIG welding skills, and a commitment to safety and quality.
Essential Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, and monitor Miller and Lincoln robotic welding systems.
- Load and unload parts into welding fixtures while maintaining production efficiency.
- Start and monitor robotic welding programs to ensure proper arc stability, wire feed, and weld quality.
- Make minor program adjustments using Miller or Lincoln teach pendants.
- Adjust welding parameters, including voltage, amperage, and wire feed speed, as needed.
- Set up fixtures for new production jobs.
- Perform visual and dimensional inspections using calipers, gauges, and tape measures.
- Complete minor weld touch-ups and repairs using MIG welding techniques.
- Troubleshoot minor robotic, fixture, sensor, and welding issues during production.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance, including:
- Cleaning nozzles
- Replacing contact tips
- Monitoring shielding gas levels
- Maintaining a clean and organized work area
- Accurately complete production paperwork and update computer records.
- Follow all company safety policies, including proper use of PPE and machine guarding.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 2 years of manual MIG welding experience.
- Previous robotic welding or robotic machine operation experience required.
- Ability to successfully complete an internal welding test.
- Ability to read and follow work instructions and production documents.
- Basic computer skills for production documentation.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for the majority of a 10-hour shift.
- Frequently lift and carry up to 20 pounds.
- Occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
- Frequently bend, stoop, reach, push, pull, grip, and perform repetitive hand movements.
- Ability to work safely around automated equipment.
- Must have sufficient vision, including close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception.
