The Robotics Architect will lead the architecture and integration of advanced robotics and autonomous systems. This role focuses on FMS/WMS integration across autonomous turret trucks, AMRs, robotic palletizers, and other warehouse automation technologies. You will bridge robotics architecture, software engineering, testing, and delivery, providing technical oversight across client teams, vendors, and development partners from pilot through production.
This is a US-based role with an anticipated base salary range of $200,000-$250,000 annually.
Responsibilities
- Own technical architecture and integration strategy for complex robotics and autonomous warehouse solutions
- Define and manage FMS/WMS integration requirements across autonomous turret trucks, AMRs, palletizers, and other robotic platforms
- Serve as technical lead across client engineering teams, robotics vendors, and software development partners
- Translate operational and testing objectives into software features, integration requirements, acceptance criteria, and development priorities
- Partner with test engineers to identify gaps and connect test readiness with feature delivery milestones
- Review architectures, APIs, code, and vendor deliverables for security, scalability, and integration standards
- Design vendor-neutral interoperability frameworks using VDA 5050, ROS2, APIs, and vendor protocols
- Define GUI requirements for operator control, monitoring, diagnostics, and workcell management
- Lead architecture reviews, system integration testing, validation, commissioning, and deployment readiness
- Develop technical documentation and integration specifications
- Support simulation and digital twin environments including NVIDIA Isaac Sim and Omniverse
- Drive technical decisions across stakeholders and resolve integration risks, dependencies, and competing priorities
Requirements
- Degree in Robotics, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical/Computer Engineering, or related field
- Experience architecting or integrating robotics, autonomous systems, warehouse automation, or industrial automation solutions
- Strong FMS/WMS integration experience with autonomous robotic platforms
- Knowledge of VDA 5050, ROS2, APIs, and multi-vendor robotics environments
- Software engineering depth to review architectures, integrations, APIs, code, and vendor deliverables
- Experience with software testing, requirements traceability, acceptance criteria, and validation
- Knowledge of secure data, messaging, cloud/IoT, and enterprise integration
- Understanding of SLAM, sensor fusion, control systems, and hardware-software integration
- Strong stakeholder management and ability to lead in ambiguous, fast-moving environments
- Experience with Isaac Sim, Omniverse, digital twins, or CI/CD is preferred
