Rockwork Field Technician I, II & III

Pay Rate:
- Level I: $19.00 - $25.00/hour
- Level II: $25.00 - $30.00/hour
- Level III: $30.00 - $35.00/hour
Shift:
- 1st Shift: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
- Overtime available based on project demands and business needs.
Job Summary
Abacus Staffing is hiring experienced Rockwork Field Technicians (Levels I, II, and III) for a leading themed construction and fabrication project in Orlando, FL. This position involves constructing and installing artificial environments, themed structures, reinforced concrete elements, and scenic rockwork components. Candidates should have experience working with construction tools, blueprints, welding, rigging, concrete, and field installation projects.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Level I ($19-$25/hr)
- Follow all company and project safety policies and procedures.
- Shape, bend, secure, and tie reinforcing steel.
- Cut rebar and wire mesh using cutting tools.
- Assist with blueprint-based fabrication and construction projects.
- Operate and maintain concrete pumps, plaster pumps, air compressors, and hand tools.
- Assist with welding and installation activities.
- Operate forklifts and construction equipment as needed.
Level II ($25-$30/hr)
- Perform all Level I duties.
- Read and interpret blueprints and construction drawings.
- Operate machinery and equipment independently.
- Perform fit and tack welding of stainless steel.
- Apply lath and backing materials using hand and power tools.
- Assist with rigging operations and load movement.
- Support cement and foam application activities.
- Inspect, maintain, and store rigging equipment.
Level III ($30-$35/hr)
- Perform all Level I and II duties.
- Serve as a qualified rigger for complex lifting operations.
- Select and inspect rigging systems, pulleys, cables, booms, and lifting devices.
- Coordinate heavy equipment movement and load placement.
- Assess and mitigate risks associated with lifting operations and confined work areas.
Qualifications
Level I
- Minimum 1 year of rockwork or related construction experience.
- Experience working with construction tools, materials, and equipment.
- Ability to read and follow written procedures.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Level II
- Minimum 3 years of rockwork industry experience.
- Ability to review and understand construction drawings and specifications.
Level III
- Minimum 5 years of rockwork industry experience.
- Advanced blueprint reading skills.
- Qualified rigger certification, training, or equivalent experience.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and spatial awareness skills.
- Strong commitment to jobsite safety.

Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. with assistance when needed.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, pull, push, and perform repetitive movements.
- Comfortable working outdoors, at heights, and in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to work safely around construction equipment and elevated work platforms.
