Job Title: Senior Ruby on Rails Software Engineer

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior Ruby on Rails Software Engineer to design, develop, test, and implement scalable full-stack web applications. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Ruby on Rails, Ruby, REST APIs, front-end technologies, and relational databases.
The candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, technology teams, database engineers, infrastructure teams, and external vendors to develop high-quality applications while ensuring performance, scalability, data integrity, and system reliability.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and implement large-scale web applications and full-stack components.
- Build and maintain backend services using Ruby and Ruby on Rails.
- Develop front-end applications using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and React.
- Design and implement APIs and interfaces using REST, JSON, RPC, XML, and Protocol Buffers.
- Troubleshoot application performance, response times, capacity, and scalability issues.
- Work with relational databases such as PostgreSQL and MySQL.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, internal technology teams, and external vendors.
- Ensure application data quality, integrity, and consistency.
- Create and maintain technical documentation.
- Leverage GenAI tools and technologies to improve software development workflows.
Required Qualifications
- 8-10 years of overall software engineering experience.
- 6+ years of hands-on experience with Ruby and Ruby on Rails.
- 6+ years of experience in API design and development.
- Strong experience with REST APIs, JSON, ProtoBuf, RPC, and XML.
- 6+ years of front-end development experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and React.
- Strong database design and query development experience with PostgreSQL and/or MySQL.
- Knowledge of integrating Generative AI (GenAI) into development workflows.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with GoLang, Java, or other compiled/high-concurrency languages such as C++, Rust, or Erlang.
- Experience with RSpec and MiniTest.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as CircleCI and Jenkins.
- Experience with AWS infrastructure and DevOps practices.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
