Rx Maintenance Specialist is a license Pharmacy Technician who supports prescription continuity in a mail order pharmacy environment through proactive outreach and refill maintenance. This role is responsible for coordinating renewals, and engaging patients to prevent therapy gaps. The specialist plays a critical role in on time medication fulfillment for chronic and maintenance therapies.
What You’ll Do
- Perform outbound calls or texts to patients regarding refill needs
- Address patient questions related to refill status, shipping timelines, and order processing within defined service levels
- Monitor high‑volume prescription queues
- Initiate and follow up on prescription renewal requests with prescribers to prevent shipment delays
- Ensure prescriptions are maintained accurately to support uninterrupted mail‑order fulfillment
- Communicate with provider offices via electronic requests, fax, or phone to obtain renewals
- Collaborate with pharmacists and customer service to resolve issues impacting shipment
- Escalate clinical or time‑sensitive issues in accordance with established workflows
- Document all outreach, renewal activity, and patient interactions accurately in pharmacy systems
- Identify recurring delays or process issues and communicate opportunities for workflow improvement
- Meet productivity and quality standards for outreach volume, renewal turnaround time, and prescription maintenance accuracy
- Support medication adherence, auto‑refill enrollment, and gap‑in‑therapy reduction initiatives
- Performs other related duties as assigned
Who You Are
- Registered Pharmacy Technician required (CPhT preferred)
- Experience in mail‑order or centralized pharmacy operations a plus
- Experience working in remote or hybrid pharmacy environments
- Bilingual language skills a plus
- Highly self-motivated, driven to succeed and career minded
- Possess problem solving, attention to detail, organizational and time-management skills
- Demonstrate effective oral, written and interpersonal communication
- Works well independently with ability to make independent decisions
- Exceptional communication skills; oral, written and interpersonal
- Provides exceptional internal and external customer service to patients, peers and clients
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, time management, organization and follow through skills a must
- Efficiently and accurately provide information to patients and peers
- Ability to work the following work schedule: Monday to Friday 8:30 am to 5:00 pm
- Ability to work from our Andover office during the initial training and onboarding period before transitioning to a hybrid work schedule
