Tarpon Specialty Services is seeking an experienced Safety Advisor to support active jobsites in the Corpus Christi area. This is a field-first role — you'll be on-site, working alongside crews, identifying hazards, and ensuring compliance with OSHA standards and client safety requirements. This position is for someone who leads by presence, not paperwork.
Conduct daily site safety inspections and hazard assessments on active construction and/or oil & gas facilities
Enforce OSHA standards, company safety policies, and client-specific HSE requirements
Facilitate toolbox talks, safety orientations, and on-site training sessions
Investigate incidents, near-misses, and unsafe conditions — document findings and corrective actions
Coordinate with site supervisors and project management to address safety gaps in real time
Maintain accurate safety records, inspection logs, and compliance documentation
Support emergency response planning and drills
Minimum 3 years of safety experience in construction, oil & gas, or industrial environments
Must be available and willing to work 50+ hours per week
Working knowledge of OSHA 29 CFR 1910 and 1926 standards
First Aid / CPR certification preferred
Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a strong plus
OSHA 30 certification preferred
Ability to work in outdoor, industrial environments in all weather conditions
Strong communication and interpersonal skills — comfortable engaging craft workers and site leadership alike
