We are seeking an experienced Safety & Compliance Manager to oversee safety programs, driver compliance, vehicle documentation, and regulatory requirements for our dump truck operations. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in the trucking or heavy-haul industry and a strong understanding of DOT regulations and commercial vehicle safety.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure compliance with applicable DOT, FMCSA, and state transportation regulations.
Monitor driver qualification files, CDL records, medical certificates, and required documentation.
Maintain and monitor driver hours-of-service (HOS) and ELD compliance.
Coordinate DOT inspections, vehicle maintenance records, and safety inspections.
Conduct driver safety meetings, training, and incident investigations.
Monitor driver violations, accidents, and corrective actions.
Prepare for DOT audits and maintain accurate compliance records.
Work with dispatch, fleet maintenance, and management to promote safe operations.
Track permits, registrations, insurance documents, and other required fleet records.
Qualifications
Previous experience in safety and compliance within a dump truck, trucking, or heavy-haul company is strongly preferred.
Knowledge of DOT and FMCSA regulations and applicable state requirements.
Experience managing driver files, vehicle records, inspections, and safety documentation.
Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet compliance deadlines.
