Position Description

The role of the Physical Education Aide/Safety Coordinator is to contribute to a safe, supportive, and caring school community especially through the supervision of students during P.E., lunch, and transitions. Additionally, this role supports serving meals, parent communications, valet (student pick-up) and traffic supervision during After School hours.

Hours

9:00-5:30pm, Monday - Friday

Responsibilities

• Supervise students during transitions and lunch and ensure that they are exhibiting behaviors consistent with Equitas values.
• Supervise students during physical education activities, ensuring safety and positive behavior at all times.
• Execute P.E. activities under the direction of the P.E. Teacher.
• Assist the P.E. teacher with the setup and cleanup of equipment and instructional materials for daily activities.
• Promote respectful interactions and good sportsmanship among students.
• Support with attendance, minor first aid, and documentation as directed by the teacher.
• Maintain high expectations for student behavior.
• Actively participate in professional development aimed at refining school culture.
• Support in the school office with administrative tasks.
• Support the beautification of the campus.
• Follow policies and procedures for health, safety, and nutrition.
• Maintain open lines of communication with staff, families, and other stakeholders.
• Supervise valet (student drop off/pick-up).
• Maintain a safe and structured parking and valet system.
• Assist families and guests with alternative parking solutions.
• Assist School Operations Manager and ELOP Manager with special projects.
• Complete other tasks as assigned by the PE Teacher, Principal, School Operations Manager or ELOP Manager.

Minimum Requirements

• Previous experience working with students preferred
• Bilingual Spanish speaker required
• High school diploma or equivalent required; BA or some college preferred
• CPR Certification and First Aid Certificate required within 60 days of hire
• Current CPR and 1st Aid Certificate within 3 months of employment

Salary and benefits

Starting at $22/hour. This is a full-time, hourly position with benefits.
