Safety Coordinator – Structural Steel Erection
Job Summary
We are seeking a Safety Coordinator to support the safe execution of structural steel erection projects. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of construction safety experience, with a strong preference for experience in structural steel erection. This individual will work closely with field leadership to promote a strong safety culture, ensure OSHA compliance, and minimize jobsite risks.
Responsibilities
- Conduct regular jobsite safety inspections and audits.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
- Lead daily safety meetings, toolbox talks, and new hire orientations.
- Investigate incidents, near misses, and recommend corrective actions.
- Assist field leadership with hazard identification and risk mitigation.
- Maintain safety documentation, reports, and training records.
- Monitor fall protection, rigging, crane operations, and PPE compliance.
- Promote a proactive safety culture across all project sites.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of construction safety experience, preferably in structural steel erection.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction safety best practices.
- Experience conducting safety audits, inspections, and incident investigations.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to work in both office and field environments.
- Willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
