Description

Job Title: Safety CoordinatorReports To: Production ManagerFLSA Status: Non Exempt Summary Ensure compliance with Champion's safety program to ensure a safe, healthy, and accident-free work environment by performing the following duties personally or through supervisors. Responsible for deployment of the plant safety training program. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.Plans and implements safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) rules and regulations.Plans and implements programs to train managers and employees in work site safety practices, fire prevention, and the identification of and correct handling techniques for hazardous materials.Inspects plant and office facilities to detect accident and health hazards, determines corrective or preventative measures where indicated, and follows up to ensure measures have been implemented.Provides information, signs, posters, barriers, and other materials to warn of safety hazards and to prevent access to hazardous conditions.Leads the investigation of accidents and injuries and cooperates in the preparation of material and evidence for organization use in hearings, lawsuits, and insurance investigations.Compiles and submits accident reports required by regulatory agencies.Prepares and arranges safety exhibits and materials for display, promotional work, industry conferences, and exhibitions.Represents the organization in community or industry safety groups and programs.Maintains safety files and records, both written and electronic. Qualifications Leadership experience in a safety or operations role is preferredExperience in formal incident investigation and OSHA regulationsExceptional communication skills, such as the ability to effectively communicate information to the teamDemonstrated presentation and facilitation skillsProficient skills in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPointGreat organizational skillsExcellent team player attitudeAbility to multi-task and prioritize daily activities Education and/or Experience Two to four years related experience and/or training related to safe operation in a manufacturing environment. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations First Aid and CPR EEO StatementChampion Home Builders is proud to be an equal-opportunity employer.
