In this Safety Director opportunity, you’ll help lead a companywide safety program while supporting data center and industrial construction work in the field—directly alongside leadership and operations.
Qualifications and responsibilities for this Safety Director position include:
- 10+ years of construction safety management experience, including safety experience with industrial contractors that self-perform their work.
- At least 5 years leading a structured safety program, with experience supervising and developing other safety professionals.
- Direct safety experience on data center construction projects and familiarity with client requirements.
- Practical knowledge of construction safety requirements and controls for excavation, lifting and rigging, concrete work, process piping, confined spaces, energy isolation, and work at heights.
- Lead, implement, and improve the companywide safety program as staffing and project demands grow.
- Supervise, coach, and develop the safety staff; work with project managers, superintendents, and foremen to plan safe work and establish consistent expectations across jobsites.
- Conduct jobsite visits, audits, and hazard assessments; use stop-work authority as needed and ensure hazards are corrected before work resumes.
- Oversee compliance and reporting, including OSHA, MSHA, fleet/DOT, environmental compliance, workers’ compensation, and incident investigations with corrective action tracking.
Salary: $125k-$150k per year, commensurate with experience.
Benefits: Union plan; 100% employer-paid BCBS medical coverage for employee and family, dental, vision, 401(k) with 4% match, 2 weeks sick time, and 2 weeks' vacation (negotiable).
