What if your code helped thousands of people build sustainable income? 

I'm partnering with a well-funded marketplace platform that's changing how entrepreneurs monetise their expertise online. They've built the infrastructure for creators and small businesses to sell digital products, software, and services - and they're processing tens of thousands of transactions every single day.

 

About the Role

The problem? With that scale comes serious risk. Fraudsters, chargebacks, bad actors.

They need a Sales Engineer who can protect both the platform and the people who depend on it.

 

Responsibilities

  • Own the payments risk function - transaction moderation, fraud detection, chargeback prevention
  • Build and improve KYC and payout systems
  • Create dashboards and automation that scale with the business
  • Work directly with customers when complex issues arise

 

Qualifications

  • You've worked in payments, fintech, or marketplace trust & safety
  • You have 4-10 years of experience as a Sales Engineer, Forward Deployed Engineer, or similar customer-facing technical role
  • You're comfortable with Ruby on Rails and modern frontend frameworks
  • You want to be in the code, not managing from a distance

 

Required Skills

  • Hands-on engineering work. You'll be writing code daily, not sitting in meetings.
  • Ruby on Rails 
  • Next.js
  • Experience in a top tier payments engineering at a company like Stripe or similar fintech company / start-​up

 

Pay range and compensation package

 

  • $200K - $300K base + equity
  • On-site in Palo Alto, CA (5 days every week)
  • Series B company with strong product-market fit
  • Roadmap includes banking infrastructure, card products, and more
