Sales Executive – Utilities & Drone Software

Territory: Central / Eastern U.S.
Preferred location: Remote, with preferred base in the KY, TN, NC, SC, GA, or AL region
Travel: 30–50% (North America)

Drone Harmony, a leading provider of software solutions for drone operations in the electric utility sector, is looking for a relationship-driven sales professional to help expand adoption across the growing U.S. market.

This is a role for someone who understands the utility world, speaks the language of field and operations teams, and is excited by the opportunity to move into a more strategic, technology-focused commercial position in a rapidly growing market. You will help utilities modernize how they plan, manage, and scale drone-enabled inspection programs by selling Drone Harmony solutions.

The role

As a Sales Executive, you will be responsible for building new business across the utility sector, primarily in greenfield territory. This is a front-line commercial role focused on creating pipeline, opening strategic accounts, building trusted customer relationships, qualifying opportunities, and moving prospects through a structured sales process to close.

Success in this role will be measured by qualified pipeline generation, meetings with utility decision-makers, progression of opportunities through consultative sales cycles, and closed contracts ranging from pilot projects to larger enterprise deployments. This role is for someone who wants to build, not inherit, and who can turn operational challenges into compelling commercial opportunities.

You will work with utility stakeholders across operations, asset management, maintenance, inspection, innovation, and drone program leadership.

What you will do

  • Identify, pursue, and qualify new sales opportunities in the utility sector
  • Build relationships with decision-makers across utility organizations
  • Understand customer operational challenges, provide inputs for product management and position software solutions that solve real problems
  • Manage the sales cycle from first contact through proposal and close
  • Represent the company at customer meetings, industry events, demonstrations, and conferences
  • Travel regularly across the territory to develop opportunities and strengthen customer relationships
  • Maintain a disciplined approach to pipeline management, forecasting, CRM hygiene, and follow-up
  • Collaborate closely with internal product, customer success, and leadership teams to support successful deals and long-term customer value

Who you are

  • A strong business developer / hunter who enjoys opening doors, creating momentum, and building lasting customer relationships
  • Credible and well-regarded in the utility industry
  • Skilled at generating and qualifying leads and developing opportunities from first conversation through close
  • Comfortable operating in a consultative sales environment with multiple stakeholders
  • Technically savvy and able to quickly understand software and drone-enabled workflows
  • Organized, process-driven, and consistent in administrative follow-through
  • High in trust, integrity, and personal accountability
  • Motivated by the opportunity to build something rather than inherit it
  • Confident in your ability to create value, generate results, and be rewarded accordingly
  • Comfortable with frequent travel and customer-facing work

What we are looking for

  • 6+ years of experience in the utility industry
  • Strong understanding of utility operations, maintenance, inspection, or asset-related workflows
  • Existing industry network is a strong advantage
  • Multi-utility experience is highly valued
  • Public-facing experience is a plus, whether in customer engagement, presentations, training, or industry representation
  • Experience in drones, inspection programs, field operations, or utility technology is a plus
  • Ability and willingness to learn product details and communicate technical value clearly

Why this role

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to take the next step in their career — whether coming from an operational role with strong industry knowledge or from an existing sales position and looking for greater ownership, broader responsibility, and stronger upside.

You will join a technology-driven environment focused on helping utilities work smarter, scale drone programs effectively, and improve inspection operations. For the right person, this role offers the chance to play a meaningful part in high-value sales engagements, combine industry knowledge with customer relationships and technology, and grow into a role with significant long-term impact.

This position is particularly well suited to individuals who believe in their ability to create opportunity, build trusted customer relationships, and drive commercial success. We operate with an uncapped reward philosophy where contribution, performance, and results are recognized accordingly. If you are motivated by the opportunity to build a territory, create your own success, and share in the value you help create, this role offers exceptional long-term potential.

It is also an opportunity to contribute directly to the success of a fast-growing company that is establishing itself as a recognized name in the utility-focused commercial drone space.

Location

Preferred candidates will be based in the Central / Eastern U.S., ideally around:
Kentucky, Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, or Alabama

This position requires travel (30%-50%) in North America.

Interested?

We would love to hear from candidates who bring deep utility experience, strong industry credibility, and a genuine passion for helping customers adopt practical, high-value technology.
