Description
Job brief
Our client is a global innovator in motion control and automation components. It is a key player in the "brain and muscle" of modern robotics—providing high-performance HMIs, PLC systems, and specialized Servo/Stepper drive solutions. With the North American automation market at an inflection point, our client is looking for a Sales Manager to focus specifically on the Robotics and Logistics Automation ecosystems. This is a "hunter" role designed for a professional who understands the technical nuances of mobile platforms, sorting systems, and smart factory integration.
Responsibilities
Targeted Robotics Development: Lead the business development strategy for the Mobile Robotics (AGV, AMR, and Cobot) sector, promoting specialized DC servo systems and frameless motor technology to OEM robot manufacturers.
Logistics and Warehousing Expansion: Secure strategic partnerships with manufacturers of automated sorting systems, conveyors, and ASRS (Automated Storage and Retrieval Systems) by providing integrated control and drive solutions.
Industrial OEM Acquisition: Identify and penetrate high-potential Industrial Automation accounts, focusing on machine builders requiring high-precision motion control and advanced HMI interfaces.
Technical Consultation: Act as a technical bridge, translating the unique power-density and communication requirements (EtherCAT, CANopen) of robotics customers into customized solutions.
Requirements
Industry Expertise: 5+ years of proven success selling to Robotics OEMs or Logistics/Material Handling equipment manufacturers.
Technical Proficiency: Deep understanding of Motion Control (Servo/Stepper drives) and Control Systems (PLC/HMI). Familiarity with low-voltage DC power requirements for mobile platforms is a major plus.
Sales Acumen: A track record of securing "design-wins" during the R&D phase of OEM product development.
Education: B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Robotics, Mechatronics, or a related field.
Travel: Ability to travel up to 50% to visit key innovation hubs and attend industry-specific trade shows (e.g., Automate, ProMat).
