Scope of Responsibility:

This position is responsible for providing sales support to the Galvanizing division by providing courteous, professional sales service to clients and internal departments.

Essential Duties:

• Communicates directly with customer, purchasing agents, supervisors, project managers and vendors
• Communicates directly with internal department personnel, i.e., sales, production, shipping, quality and accounting
• Acts as client's advocate within the organization, maintaining client standards schedules
• Inputs data into ERP Epicor System
• Assists in developing and maintaining reports and various schedules (i.e. monthly invoicing, major project activity and daily reports)
• Works with sales to cultivate and maintain clients
• Answers customers' questions about services, prices, timelines and credit terms
• Consults with General Manager and Sales on price quotes
• Advises customers about credit or contract terms, warranties and delivery dates
• Consults with clients after sales or contract signings to resolve problems and provides ongoing service
• Work closely with production to develop lead times for customer product to ensure on-time deliveries
• Understand the galvanizing process to inform the customer of specific needs pertaining to galvanizing their product
• Learn and understand all relevant ASTM specification including but not limited to ASTM A123 and A780
• Must be able to travel 50% of the time
• Additional duties as assigned
• Regular and on-time attendance
• Work in your shift as scheduled
• Getting along with coworkers

Position Requirements:

Education: Associates or college degree preferred

Experience:

• Advanced customer service experience and/or sales
• Manufacturing and shipping knowledge highly preferred
• Experience in Epicor highly preferred

Skills & Abilities:

• Excellent working knowledge of MS Word, Excel and Outlook
• Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently
• Knowledge of hot dip galvanizing, steel fabrication or other custom metal coating operations is highly preferred
• Ability to identify, define and resolve problems
• Ability to effectively manage and prioritize competing priorities
• Ability to perceive the impact of decisions across departments
• Excellent comprehension and information retention
• Process strong organization skills and attention to detail
• Demonstrates an ability to use new technology

Physical Requirements:

• Demonstrated ability to work with frequent interruptions in workflow and constantly changing priorities.
• Must be able to remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time with the ability to move throughout the office or outside manufacturing plant as needed.
• Must be able to perform physical activities that require use of fingers, hands and arms, such as sitting, typing, using office equipment and reaching. Some additional physical activities may require walking, stooping, bending, twisting and handling of materials.
• Position requires manual dexterity, arm-hand steadiness and a safety-minded individual.
• Must have the ability to concentrate on tasks for long periods of time and be able to observe and receive information from all relevant sources.
• Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing as well as answer telephones and greet customers.
