    Summary

This role is ideal for an early- to mid-career sales professional with a background in organic chemistry, life sciences, or scientific products who wants to develop and grow a Northern California territory. You will identify new customers, manage the complete sales process, and build relationships with pharmaceutical, biotechnology, academic, and research organizations.

The strongest candidate combines hands-on sales experience with an understanding of organic chemistry. However, experienced life-science sales professionals without a chemistry background and motivated organic chemistry graduates interested in transitioning into sales will also be considered.

    What You’ll Do

    • Identify and develop new business opportunities across Northern California.
    • Prospect pharmaceutical, biotechnology, academic, CRO, and scientific research customers.
    • Research potential accounts, generate qualified leads, and maintain an active sales pipeline.
    • Manage the sales process from initial outreach through quotation, negotiation, closing, and order fulfillment.
    • Prepare pricing, quotations, proposals, and product information based on customer requirements.
    • Develop long-term relationships with existing customers while identifying opportunities to expand business.
    • Discuss chemical products, research requirements, and technical applications with scientists and purchasing teams.
    • Collaborate with Customer Service, Marketing, R&D, and internal technical teams to resolve customer needs.
    • Attend customer meetings, scientific conferences, trade shows, and industry events.
    • Maintain accurate account, opportunity, and activity information within the CRM.
    • Monitor market activity, customer needs, competitive trends, and emerging opportunities.
    • Consistently work toward individual revenue goals and broader team sales objectives.

    Experience You’ll Need

    • Bachelor’s degree in Organic Chemistry, Chemistry, Medicinal Chemistry, Biochemistry, Life Sciences, or a related scientific discipline strongly preferred.
    • Sales, business development, account management, or customer-facing commercial experience preferred.
    • Experience selling products or services within pharmaceutical, biotechnology, life-science, laboratory, or chemical markets is highly desirable.
    • Strong understanding of organic chemistry is highly desirable.
    • Ability to communicate scientific and technical information clearly to researchers and business stakeholders.
    • Strong prospecting, relationship-building, negotiation, and follow-up skills.
    • Ability to independently manage a Northern California sales territory.
    • Strong organizational and CRM skills.
    • Must currently reside in Northern California.
