Openwork is hiring a motivated and mechanically inclined Sales & Service Technician Trainee for an established company in Houston, TX 77032.
This hands-on position focuses on assisting with daily service routes, installing and maintaining equipment, providing customer service, and developing technical skills.
Qualified candidates should have strong customer service experience, mechanical aptitude, experience using hand tools, and a valid Texas driver's license. This entry-level opportunity offers hands-on training, commission opportunities, and career advancement.
Position Details:
- Location: Houston, TX 77032.
- Pay: $20–$21/hr DOE + Commission Opportunities.
- Schedule: Mon–Fri, 7:00 AM–4:00 PM.
- Shift: 1st Shift.
- Employment: Full-Time | Direct Hire.
- Daily Service Routes: Approximately 8–10 customers.
- Training: Technical and CDL training provided.

Key Responsibilities:
- Assist technicians with daily service routes.
- Service approximately 8–10 customer locations daily.
- Install, maintain, and repair equipment at customer locations.
- Perform preventive maintenance on equipment.
- Assist with equipment repairs and rebuilding.
- Stock company vehicles with necessary tools and supplies.
- Provide excellent customer service.
- Prepare invoices, collect payments, and maintain records.
- Follow company safety procedures and service guidelines.
Qualifications:
- Strong customer service experience required.
- Mechanical aptitude and experience using hand tools.
- Ability to learn equipment repairs and troubleshooting.
- Valid Texas driver's license required.
- Must be at least 21 years old.
- Comfortable driving for extended periods.
- Ability to obtain a CDL with Hazmat endorsement after 90 days.
- Must meet applicable DOT and Hazmat eligibility requirements.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Willingness to work rotating on-call schedules upon advancement.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Dependable, motivated, and willing to learn.
- Must complete required drug screening, TSA background check, MVR review, and DOT physical.
Driving & CDL Requirements:
- Valid Texas driver's license required.
- Must meet company driving eligibility standards.
- Must be eligible to obtain a CDL with Hazmat endorsement.
- Company provides CDL training and study materials.
- Company pays for the first CDL examination and licensing costs.
- Must follow applicable DOT regulations.
Interview & Training:
- Candidates will accompany a technician on a service route during the interview.
- Basic hand tool knowledge will be evaluated.
- Hands-on equipment and service training provided.
- CDL and Hazmat endorsement training support available.
Career Advancement:
The goal of this position is to prepare employees for advancement into a Sales & Service Representative (SSR) role.
- Potential SSR Earnings: $65,000–$75,000 annually on an established route.
- No Cold Calling: Established customer routes.
