SALESFORCE TECHNICAL ARCHITECT
Location: Remote role (Must be located near one of these locations: Dallas, Atlanta, Chicago, NY, Boston, Denver, or Houston) + 20% travel to Chicago, IL
Pay Rate: $80/hr – $105/hr
Contract Duration: 3+ months
Summary:
Our client is seeking an experienced Salesforce Technical Architect to design, develop, and deliver enterprise Salesforce solutions across Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, CPQ, and Billing. This hands-on leadership role requires deep Salesforce architecture expertise, complex enterprise integrations, and experience leading distributed onshore and offshore development teams. The ideal candidate will drive scalable Salesforce solutions, optimize quote-to-cash processes, and modernize an existing Salesforce environment while maintaining business continuity.
Description – Salesforce Technical Architect:
  • Lead the architecture, design, development, and implementation of enterprise Salesforce solutions across Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, CPQ, and Billing.
  • Serve as a trusted technical advisor to client stakeholders, providing Salesforce architecture recommendations and best practices.
  • Design and develop custom Salesforce solutions using Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Aura Components, Salesforce APIs, and Flows.
  • Architect end-to-end quote-to-cash solutions integrating Salesforce Sales Cloud, CPQ, Billing, ERP, and finance systems.
  • Lead Salesforce CPQ implementations, including product and pricing rules, Quote Calculator Plugin (QCP), CPQ APIs, quote templates, and performance optimization.
  • Support Salesforce Billing functionality, including invoicing, payments, revenue schedules, and order-to-cash processes.
  • Design and oversee integrations between Salesforce and enterprise applications using MuleSoft, Dell Boomi, Informatica, REST/SOAP APIs, and other middleware technologies.
  • Define Salesforce system architecture, identify gaps between current and future states, and develop scalable CRM solutions.
  • Establish architecture standards for data modeling, security, system integrations, and platform performance.
  • Provide technical leadership and development guidance to onshore and India-based engineering teams.
  • Collaborate with client engineering teams and business stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable technical solutions.
  • Develop technical design specifications, integration architecture documentation, and deployment strategies.
  • Manage development timelines, technical resources, testing, validation, and Salesforce release processes.
  • Support Agile development, CI/CD pipelines, source control, and automated deployments.
  • Leverage AI-assisted development practices to improve engineering productivity, documentation, testing, and solution quality.
  • Troubleshoot complex Salesforce issues, optimize platform performance, and ensure solutions follow Salesforce best practices.
  • Contribute to technical knowledge sharing, reusable solutions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications – Salesforce Technical Architect:
  • 10+ years of IT, enterprise consulting, or software development experience, with significant hands-on Salesforce architecture and development expertise.
  • Strong experience architecting and delivering enterprise Salesforce solutions across Sales Cloud and Service Cloud.
  • Deep technical expertise in Salesforce CPQ, including product rules, price rules, Quote Calculator Plugin (QCP), CPQ APIs, quote templates, and complex quoting processes.
  • Hands-on experience with Salesforce Billing, including invoicing, payments, revenue schedules, and order-to-cash functionality.
  • Proven experience designing end-to-end quote-to-cash solutions integrating Salesforce CPQ and Billing with ERP and finance platforms.
  • Strong development skills using Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Aura Components, Salesforce Flows, and Salesforce APIs.
  • Experience with Salesforce data modeling, complex automation, custom development, and platform optimization.
  • Expertise in Salesforce integration architecture, including REST, SOAP, JSON, web services, and API-led integrations.
  • Experience with enterprise middleware and integration platforms such as MuleSoft, Dell Boomi, Talend, Jitterbit, or Informatica Cloud.
  • Understanding of enterprise system integrations involving ERP, CMS, HRIS, data warehouses, and other SaaS applications.
  • Strong knowledge of Salesforce security architecture, including single sign-on (SSO), access controls, and data security.
  • Experience with Salesforce DevOps, CI/CD, release management, source control, and deployment tools such as Jenkins, ANT, Salesforce Metadata API, and SVN.
  • Experience designing and supporting complex Salesforce environments, including multi-cloud implementations and system modernization.
  • Proficiency in Agile and Waterfall software development methodologies.
  • Experience leading technical teams and collaborating with distributed onshore and offshore development resources.
  • Strong ability to develop technical architecture documentation, solution designs, and implementation strategies.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, presentation, and client-facing consulting skills.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to business stakeholders and executive leadership.
  • Willingness to travel to client locations as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Salesforce Application Architect or System Architect certification.
  • Salesforce Platform Developer II certification.
  • Salesforce CPQ Specialist certification.
  • Salesforce Sales Cloud Consultant or Service Cloud Consultant certification.
  • Experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Experience Cloud, and MuleSoft.
  • Experience with AI-assisted Salesforce development and automation.
  • Experience with mobile application development for iOS or Android.
  • Previous experience working within enterprise digital transformation or consulting environments.
