    About The Role

    As a San Jose Full Time Medical Assistant, you will support our clinical team across multiple South Bay locations, delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced environment. Working within the Medical Assistant department, you will play a key role in patient intake, clinical procedures, and care coordination. This hourly, full-time position requires flexibility to work any day Monday through Sunday and to travel between four South Bay clinics as needed. You will collaborate closely with providers and staff to ensure efficient clinic flow, accurate documentation, and a positive experience for every patient.


    What You'll Do

    • Perform patient intake, including verifying patient identity, obtaining and documenting vital signs, medical history, and chief complaint
    • Conduct clinical procedures such as EKGs, venipuncture, injections, and ear lavage per provider orders and clinic protocols
    • Prepare exam rooms and equipment, ensuring cleanliness, organization, and readiness for patient care
    • Support providers during examinations and minor procedures, anticipating needs and maintaining patient comfort and safety
    • Document all patient interactions, procedures, and test results accurately and promptly in the electronic medical record (EMR)
    • Manage clinic flow by rooming patients efficiently, monitoring wait times, and communicating delays to patients and providers
    • Handle specimen collection, labeling, processing, and appropriate storage or transport in accordance with clinic and regulatory standards
    • Provide patients with clear instructions regarding treatments, medications, and follow-up care as directed by providers
    • Follow infection control, safety, and quality assurance protocols at all times within the clinical environment
    • Coordinate with multiple South Bay clinic locations, adjusting to varying workflows and team needs while maintaining consistent standards of care
    • Assist with administrative and front-office tasks as needed, such as scheduling, scanning, and handling patient paperwork
    • Participate in ongoing training, meetings, and quality improvement initiatives to support clinic goals and patient outcomes


    Qualifications

    • Minimum 2 years of recent experience as a Medical Assistant in a clinical or outpatient setting
    • Proficiency in performing EKGs, venipuncture, injections, ear lavage, and obtaining accurate vital signs in a fast-paced environment
    • Current Medical Assistant certification or diploma from an accredited program (or equivalent, as required by state regulations)
    • Current BLS/CPR certification or ability to obtain prior to start date
    • Comfort working in a high-volume, fast-paced clinic environment with strong attention to detail and patient safety
    • Able to work a flexible schedule, including any day Monday through Sunday, based on clinic needs
    • Able and willing to travel between four South Bay clinics on a regular basis
    • Strong communication skills in English, with the ability to provide clear instructions and empathetic patient interactions
    • Basic proficiency with computers and electronic medical records (EMR) systems
    • Demonstrated reliability, professionalism, and ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary care team
