Sandblasting Technician  

Put your manufacturing experience to work preparing metal parts for painting, anodizing, and assembly.

SALARY: $19.00 per hour
LOCATION: Tualatin, OR
SCHEDULE: Monday through Friday, 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM, or Monday through Thursday, 2:00 PM to 12:30 AM

WHY YOU’LL LOVE THIS ROLE

• Hands-on work with sandblasting and metal finishing equipment.

• A variety of duties, including surface preparation, inspection, and occasional assembly preparation.

• Clear work instructions and established production processes.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Set up and operate sandblasting and sand recovery equipment to remove contamination, scale, and markings or create the required surface finish.

• Position and turn parts for complete coverage, inspect finished surfaces, and report defects or quality concerns.

• Follow work orders and production schedules, maintain accurate part counts, and load, unload, and kit parts according to instructions.

• Perform routine equipment maintenance and cleaning, monitor supplies, and report equipment problems or repair needs.

• Assist with deburring, component preparation, and paint booth duties as needed while following safety procedures and wearing required protective equipment.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

• At least six months of related experience in a production or manufacturing environment.

• Working knowledge of manual and automatic sand or grit blasting equipment, materials, and processes.

• Experience inspecting cleaned parts and identifying surface quality concerns.

• Knowledge of sandblasting hazards, safety precautions, and protective equipment.

• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English and follow written and verbal work instructions.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Regularly lift or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 40 pounds. Frequently sit, stand, walk, reach, stoop, kneel, and crouch while moving throughout the production facility. Vision and hearing must be sufficient to perform the work, with correction as needed. Duties include repetitive tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
