Job Description

Position Purpose: The Sanitation Supervisor ensures total plant cleanliness in all production areas while leading and developing the sanitation team. This role is responsible for compliance with safety and sanitation standards, preparing equipment for production, and coaching team members for growth.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure all sanitation associates follow EH&S safety policies and procedures to protect employees and reduce organizational risk.
  • Oversee sanitation processes to ensure equipment is clean, sanitary, and assembled correctly before daily production start-up.
  • Release production areas in a timely manner once sanitation is complete.
  • Manage hourly associates to meet sanitation goals, including swab failure rates, USDA non-compliances, master sanitation requirements, and department staffing.
  • Support labor relations and employee engagement activities to build a positive work environment.
  • Ensure all associates receive proper training and that assistant managers maintain accurate training documentation.

Must-Have Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of experience in sanitation or production leadership with progressive managerial responsibilities.
  • Strong knowledge of EH&S compliance, sanitation, and food safety procedures.
  • Hands-on experience ensuring equipment readiness for production.
  • Proven ability to supervise, coach, and develop hourly associates.
  • Physical capability to lift up to 50 lbs (team lift required for heavier items).
  • Ability to work 3rd shift (11 PM 8 AM) with flexibility for overtime (OT paid for 6th day).
  • Experience managing sanitation goals such as swab failure rates, USDA non-compliances, and sanitation audits.

Nice-to-Have Qualifications:
  • Experience in food manufacturing or USDA-regulated environments.
  • Exposure to labor relations and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Certification or training in sanitation, food safety, or leadership development.

Additional Information:
  • Shift: 3rd shift, 11 PM 8 AM, Monday Sunday (OT paid for the 6th day worked).
  • Compensation: $62,000 $75,000 annually, plus bonus potential (0 14%).
  • Environment: Requires PPE in production areas, physical activity (standing, walking, lifting), and working in ambient manufacturing conditions.
  • Leadership: Oversees training documentation, team coaching, and sanitation process improvement.
