Sanitation Supervisor

Location: Stoughton, WI
Job Type: Full-Time | On-Site
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 PM – 6:00 AM (Overnight Shift)

Position Overview

We are seeking a hands-on Sanitation Supervisor to oversee sanitation operations at a food manufacturing facility in Stoughton, WI. This individual will lead a team of sanitation employees, ensuring cleaning procedures are completed safely, effectively, and on schedule to support production requirements.

The ideal candidate is a strong people leader who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, enjoys developing employees, and is committed to maintaining high standards of food safety, sanitation, and operational efficiency. Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with plant personnel are essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise, coach, and develop a team of sanitation employees.
• Oversee daily sanitation activities to ensure cleaning procedures are completed safely, efficiently, and according to established standards.
• Lead team meetings to communicate expectations, priorities, and performance goals.
• Ensure compliance with food safety requirements, GMPs, SSOPs, and workplace safety policies.
• Monitor team performance, provide feedback, and hold employees accountable.
• Coordinate with plant personnel to ensure equipment and production areas are properly cleaned and ready for production.
• Identify opportunities to improve sanitation processes, efficiency, and overall team performance.
• Provide hands-on support to the sanitation team when needed.
• Assist with food safety inspections, audits, and corrective actions.
• Maintain accurate sanitation records and documentation.
• Build strong working relationships with employees, plant leadership, and other departments.
• Promote a culture of teamwork, safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Previous supervisory or team leadership experience in food manufacturing, sanitation, or a related manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of food safety standards, GMPs, and sanitation procedures.
• Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to train, motivate, and develop employees.
• Comfortable working in a hands-on, fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and meet sanitation deadlines in support of production schedules.
• Previous experience with food safety audits, including SQF, is preferred.
• Bilingual English/Spanish skills are a plus.
• Ability to work the Monday–Friday overnight schedule of 9:00 PM – 6:00 AM.
