About us
Cutting Edge Stoneworks fabricates and installs custom granite, quartz, quartzite, marble and porcelain countertops for homeowners, builders and designers across the Lake Norman area. Our founder’s standard is simple: “If it’s not good enough for me, it’s not good enough for the client.” Every countertop starts at the saw, so our saw operators set the quality for everything that follows.
The role
You’ll run our BACA sawjet and GMM Extra 400 bridge saw, cutting countertop pieces from customer-approved Slabsmith layouts. You’ll protect the slab, protect the layout the customer signed off on, and hand our CNC team clean, accurate pieces ready for the next step.
What you’ll do
Cut countertop pieces on the BACA sawjet (saw and waterjet) and the GMM bridge saw from Slabsmith layouts
Verify every slab against its layout before cutting: slab ID, material, color, vein direction and any flaws
Set up each job correctly: square the slab, measure thickness, set run speeds and set home position
Cut straight runs, seams, miters, sink and cooktop cutouts, and curves on the waterjet
Match veins and book-match pieces exactly to the approved layout
Check your own work: measure every piece, inspect for chips and drift, and catch problems before they leave your station
Complete the pre-cut checklist and job sign-off sheet on every job
Handle fragile material such as porcelain and marble with care
Keep the machines running well with daily startup checks, cleaning, blade and nozzle checks, and water system checks
Ask questions and stop when something doesn’t look right
