Position Title: SCA - Engineering Technician

Summary

The SCA Engineering Technician performs complex, non-routine technical tasks under minimal supervision, focusing on testing, troubleshooting, repairing, and documenting electro-mechanical and avionics systems faults. Working to conduct root cause analyses on defective components and ensuring compliance with military standards (MIL-STD), the individual in this role will act as a safety-sensitive certified FAA repairman and return commercial aircraft parts back to service.

What You''ll Do

• Troubleshooting and Repair: Perform high-level, complex technical work such as Circuit Card Assembly (CCA) repair down to the component level (resistors, capacitors, diodes, inductors, integrated circuits). Utilize test equipment including power supplies, multimeters, oscilloscopes, Huntron, and IC programming devices to discern faults in CCAs.
• Testing and Inspection: Execute automated and manual electrical performance tests, set up test devices, and perform mechanical inspections using calibrated tools.
• Documentation and Data Analysis: Compile detailed inspection reports, maintain maintenance logs, improve technical work documents, and utilize technical data to identify defects.
• Process Improvement: Analyze maintenance difficulties to recommend improvements to training programs, inspection procedures, and technical documentation.
• Collaboration: Partner with managers, engineers, quality assurance personnel, and technicians to resolve technical issues.
• Advanced Technical Execution: Perform non-prescribed assignments, adapt standard procedures or equipment using applicable precedents, construct components/subunits, conduct tests requiring minor setup modifications or subjective measurements, and compile engineering data to assist with design modifications and operational failure analysis.

What You''ll Bring

• Education & Experience: Associate''s Degree / 2-year Technical Degree with 4-6 years (or more) of directly related technical experience.
• FAA Repairman Certification: Ability to obtain and maintain FAA certification as a safety-sensitive repairman with a rating of Limited Accessory, Class 3, Electronics in an Air Repair station.
• Regulatory Compliance: Must be at least 18 years of age, able to read, write, speak, and understand English, and willing to undergo random drug and alcohol testing throughout job performance.
• Technical & Work Ethic: Ability to work unsupervised with consistent effort, proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, reading schematics, diagrams, and work instructions.
• Physical Ability: Capability to lift up to 50 lbs and work safely with specialized equipment.

How to Stand Out

• Active Secret Clearance (or ability to obtain/maintain a DoD Secret clearance).
• Hands-on soldering and circuit card repair skills.
• Prior experience with FAA repair station operations or returning commercial aircraft parts back to service.
• In-depth knowledge of military standards (MIL-STD), automated test setups, and root cause failure analysis on avionics/electro-mechanical systems.
