Scale Clerk

Champ Landfill is seeking a dependable and customer-focused Scale Clerk to join our team in Maryland Heights, Missouri.

This is a fast-paced position that plays a vital role in daily landfill operations by accurately weighing customers in and out, processing transactions, and providing exceptional customer service. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working with computer systems, including Excel and WasteWorks.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Greet customers, drivers, and visitors in a professional and friendly manner.
• Accurately weigh inbound and outbound vehicles using the scale system.
• Process cash, credit card, and account transactions while maintaining accurate records.
• Provide excellent customer service and efficiently handle a high volume of customer interactions.
• Utilize Microsoft Excel and WasteWorks software to enter, track, and maintain operational data.
• Answer phones and assist customers with questions regarding landfill services, pricing, and procedures.
• Balance cash drawers and reconcile daily transactions.
• Perform end-of-day closing procedures, including reporting and documentation.
• Ensure all cash, checks, and other forms of payment are secured and accurately accounted for.
• Maintain organized files and records in accordance with company policies and procedures.
• Work closely with site operations personnel to support efficient daily landfill operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous experience in customer service, cashiering, administrative support, or scale house operations preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and general computer applications.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Dependable, punctual, and capable of working independently and as part of a team.
