Job Description
General Purpose of Job: The exercise physiologist emphasizes exercise and preventive care to help patients recover from cardiovascular and pulmonary diseases with a goal of improving the overall health of the patient. Exercise physiologists develop fitness and exercise programs that help injured or sick patients recover. They are responsible for analyzing a patient's medical history to develop a risk assessment during exercise and to determine the best possible exercise and fitness regimen
for the patient. The role performs fitness and stress testing with medical equipment and is responsible for analyzing the resulting patient data. Patient data may include: blood pressure, oxygen usage, heart rhythm, and other key patient health indicators. This data is then used to develop exercise programs to improve patients' health.

This job description is intended to cover the minimum essential duties assigned on a regular basis. Caregivers may be asked to perform additional duties as assigned by their leader. Leadership has the right to alter or modify the duties of the position.
Job Requirements
General Requirements • BLS (American Heart Association) • ACLS (American Heart Association) within 3 months of hire • ACSM Certification preferred • Certified Fitness Trainer preferred Work Experience • Training and experience in all modalities of cardiac stress testing, EKG interpretation, cardiac rehabilitation, and ambulatory monitoring. Education • Minimum of a Bachelor''s Degree in Exercise Physiology Specialized Knowledge and Skills • Excellent interpersonal, organizational and decision-making skills • Ability to work well independently and in a team environment • Demonstrates ability to use the tools associated with an electronic medical record or program specific software required to perform the essential duties of the job. • Training and experience in all modalities of cardiac stress testing, EKG interpretation, cardiac rehabilitation, and ambulatory monitoring preferred • American College of Sports Medicine Guidelines for Exercise Testing and Prescription preferred • American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation Guidelines preferred
