    Position Summary

    This Crude Oil Scheduler position is located at Marathon Petroleum Company's Houston Office. The selected candidate will be responsible for coordinating the safe, efficient, and cost-effective movement of crude oil across pipelines, terminals, rail, marine, and truck transportation networks to support refinery/commercial operations. This role manages nominations, inventory positions, receipts, deliveries, and transportation schedules while ensuring reliable refinery feedstock supply and minimizing operational risk. The successful candidate will work closely with trading, optimization, refinery operations, accounting, risk management, and external business partners to execute crude supply strategies, resolve logistical challenges, and identify transportation and inventory optimization opportunities. Strong analytical skills, commercial awareness, and the ability to make timely decisions in a fast-paced environment are essential. This position requires expertise in logistics and supply chain management, inventory control, scheduling systems, and data analysis, along with a commitment to continuous improvement, operational excellence, and cross-functional collaboration.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Schedule and coordinate crude oil movements across pipelines, terminals, marine, rail, and truck transportation networks.
    • Manage nominations, inventory positions, receipts, deliveries, and transportation schedules.
    • Monitor and optimize refinery, terminal, and pipeline inventories to ensure uninterrupted crude supply.
    • Collaborate with commercial, operations, accounting, and external partners to execute supply plans and resolve logistics issues.
    • Analyze transportation constraints, operational risks, and market conditions to support efficient scheduling decisions.
    • Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance supply chain efficiency, reporting accuracy, and operational performance.

    Education and Experience

    Scheduler:

    • Bachelor's degree required or five (5) years of related experience in lieu
    • Two (2) or more years of industry-related experience required.

    Senior Scheduler:

    • Bachelor's degree required or five (5) years of related experience in lieu.
    • Four (4) or more years of industry-related experience required
