School Age Child Care - Site Manager
Purpose Statement
The job of School Age Child Care - Site Manager is done for the purpose/s of overseeing site staff, and children, providing support to the instructional program within the assigned building; creates and fosters a professional relationship with building staff and administration; creating lesson plans using curriculum, organizing and directing age-appropriate activities for infants, preschool, and Kindergarten-8th grade students; working with a diverse group of students with a variety of abilities and needs; ensuring staff obtain required certifications, adapt activities and materials, integrate and individualize curricula for all students, and assisting in developing a learning environment that encourages exploration, critical thinking, and collaboration; supporting program staff in the daily operation of the program

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
KNOWLEDGE is required to perform basic math, including calculations using fractions, percents, and/or ratios; read a variety of manuals, write documents following prescribed formats, and/or present information to others; and analyze situations to define issues and draw conclusions. Specific knowledge based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: concepts of grammar, and punctuation, age appropriate learning activities, health and safety standards and knowledge of child development program requirements and regulations.
SKILLS are required to perform multiple, technical tasks with a potential need to upgrade skills in order to meet changing job conditions. Specific skill based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: safety practices, operating standard equipment including computers and pertinent software applications, preparing and maintaining accurate records; and optimal communication skills for effective interaction with students, family members, and other staff.
ABILITY is required to schedule activities, meetings, and/or events; gather and/or collate data; and consider a number of factors when using equipment. Flexibility is required to work with others in a variety of circumstances; work with data utilizing defined and similar processes; and operate equipment using a variety of standardized methods. Ability is also required to work with a wide diversity of individuals; work with a variety of data; and utilize a variety of job-related equipment. Problem solving is required to analyze issues and create action plans. Problem solving with data may require independent interpretation; and problem solving with equipment is limited to moderate. Specific ability based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: adapting to changing work prioritizes frequent interruptions, communicating with diverse groups of individuals; maintaining confidentiality; and working as part of a team.
Responsibility
Responsibilities include: working under direct supervision using standardized procedures; directing other persons within a small work unit; tracking budget expenditures. Utilization of some resources from other work units is often required to perform the job''s functions. There is a continual opportunity to impact the organization's services.
Work Environment
The usual and customary methods of performing the job''s functions require the following physical demands: occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling, frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling, and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally the job requires 10% sitting, 60% walking, and 30% standing. The job is performed under conditions with some exposure to risk of injury and/or illness.
Experience: Job related experience is required.
Education (Preferred): Sixty college hours with twelve hours of child psychology, early childhood, or elementary education
Education: Targeted job related education that meets organization's prerequisite requirements.
Equivalency: Must be at least eighteen years of age.
