One-to-One School Aide - 7 Hours Per Day

Bernards Township Public Schools is seeking a caring, dependable, and student-centered One-to-One School Aide to provide individualized support to an elementary school student at Cedar Hill Elementary School.

Position: One-to-One School Aide

Location: Cedar Hill Elementary School

Schedule: 7 hours per day, all days when school is in session

Position Type: Full-Time, School Year

Primary Responsibilities

The One-to-One Instructional Aide will provide individualized assistance to an elementary school student throughout the school day. Primary responsibilities include:

• Assisting the student with safely traveling to and from a designated bathroom.
• Providing assistance with personal care needs while maintaining the student's privacy, dignity, and independence to the greatest extent possible.
• Supporting the student in transitioning back to the classroom
• Following established student plans, health and safety procedures, and staff directives.
• Maintaining appropriate confidentiality regarding the student and the student's educational and personal needs.
• Performing other duties related to the student's support and supervision as assigned.

Qualifications

• Substitute certificate required
• Experience working with children, particularly elementary-aged students, preferred.
• Experience providing personal care or toileting assistance preferred.
• Ability and willingness to provide toileting and personal care assistance.
• Ability to maintain student confidentiality, dignity, and privacy.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
• Dependable attendance and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a school-based team.
• Must meet all New Jersey requirements for employment in a public school district, including required criminal history background clearance.

Terms of Employment

7 hours per day on all days when school is in session.

Compensation: $23.87 per hour
