Key Responsibilities
Plan and Conduct Small Groups
Develop and lead weekly social skills groups to support students'' emotional and interpersonal growth.
Collaborate with Teachers
Partner with classroom teachers to address social issues within the classroom environment.
Provide strategies and support to promote a positive classroom culture.
Classroom Instruction
Deliver social skills lessons in classrooms as needed, focusing on respect, kindness, and effective communication. Support our Middle School by teaching a study hall course twice a week as well as teaching an elective twice a week. Both of these courses would be taught our the last hour of the day.
Promote Respect and Kindness
Work closely with the principal and teachers to ensure students treat one another with respect and kindness in alignment with Christian values.
Parent Communication
Communicate with parents promptly and effectively to provide guidance and support for student''s social and emotional needs.
Policy and Safety Compliance
Adhere to the personnel policies of Trinity Lutheran Church and Trinity Academy.
Be knowledgeable about and follow all school policies, fire plans, and first aid procedures.
In emergencies or natural disasters, remain on campus to supervise students and assist until released by the Principal or emergency coordinator.
School Advocacy
Consistently speak positively about Trinity Academy and actively promote the school's mission and values.
Licensure Maintenance
Maintain all necessary certifications and licenses required for the counseling role.
