SCHOOL COUNSELOR - MIDDLE SCHOOL

The Westby Area School District is seeking a highly motivated individual to fill the role of Middle School Counselor for the district. This position requires a dynamic, student-centered professional who is interested in working with students in a caring and supportive environment. Desire to be a team player, dedication to leading students to excellence, compassion for students, and desire to build a high quality learning environment is needed.

A successful candidate will have experience working at the middle level and have a firm grasp of counseling techniques used in individual and small group settings. Knowledge about mental health conditions, such as trauma, attachment disorders and anxiety is a must. Candidate will be actively involved in the school''s universal behavioral system, and play an integral role with targeted behavioral interventions. In addition, the candidate will be responsible for delivering classroom guidance lessons on a regular basis.

Knowledge of college admissions procedures, SEL standards and programming, academic and career planning process, ACT & AP testing, post-secondary scholarship writing and experience working with Skyward Student Data System is a plus. The selected candidate will have excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) and a strong understanding of technology.

DPI Certification 7054 - School Counselor required.
