Job Description

As a School Crossing Guard, you'll help children cross streets safely, manage traffic near schools, and keep school zones safe for students, families, and motorists while serving your community.

Responsibilities include:

• Observes traffic conditions and controls flow of traffic to allow children to arrive and depart schools.
• Directs children, maintaining positive control over movement.
• Directs movement of vehicles such as school buses to maintain safe conditions.
• Instructs children in methods to cross streets and other safe behavior in and around traffic.
• Manages unruly children to prevent injury.
• Performs other safety or traffic related tasks as directed.
• Performs other related duties as assigned

This position is required to work in numerous climates/inclement weather.

All uniforms and equipment are provided.

VOCATIONAL/EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT: Requires instruction that is sufficient for satisfactory job performance.
