OBJECTIVE:
Under the general supervision of the Community Services Sergeant, this position performs duties related to the safety of school aged children enroute to and from school within the City.
RELATIONSHIPS:
Reports to: Chief of Police through the designee of the Community Services Sergeant.
Has regular work contact with Community Services Sergeant, School Staff, Students, City employees, and the general public.
Supervises: Has no regular supervisory duties.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works in an outdoor environment and may, on occasion, be exposed to adverse weather conditions, including wet and/or humid conditions, extreme cold, and extreme heat. An individual in this position is frequently required to see/observe, talk/speak and listen/hear. The employee works near vehicular traffic; and is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, dust, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is generally quiet to moderately noisy.
This position frequently stands and walks and may occasionally climb, balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee is occasionally required to use hands to finger, handle, grasp, feel or operate objects, tools or controls; repetitive arm, hand and eye movements are included. There is occasional twisting, squatting, crawling, reaching and wrist turning. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
A typically, Monday - Friday, during the school year (September - June) with mornings from 7:50 AM until 8:20 AM, and afternoons from 3:08 PM until 3:30 PM work schedule is required for this position.
