Del Sol Solutions, a premier facilities management service company, is seeking a dependable and motivated Part-Time Evening Porter to join our team.
The Evening Porter is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, sanitation, and overall appearance of assigned school facilities after regular school operating hours. Unlike a daytime maintenance role, this position focuses on more detailed cleaning, thorough sanitation, and restoring facilities to a clean and presentable condition for the following school day.
The ideal candidate takes initiative, works efficiently, follows established cleaning procedures, and understands the importance of maintaining high standards in an educational environment.
As an Evening Porter, you will play an important role in ensuring that our clients' facilities are properly cleaned, maintained, and ready for daily operations. This is an opportunity to become part of a team that values integrity, reliability, character, and excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform detailed cleaning of classrooms, offices, hallways, stairwells, and common areas.
- Sweep, vacuum, mop, scrub, and maintain all assigned flooring.
- Perform detailed restroom cleaning, disinfection, and restocking of supplies.
- Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces, including door handles, desks, counters, switches, and shared equipment.
- Clean cafeteria, kitchen, and breakroom areas, including tables, chairs, counters, and floors.
- Empty and dispose of trash and recycling throughout the facility.
- Clean windows, mirrors, glass doors, and other interior glass surfaces.
- Perform periodic deep-cleaning tasks as assigned, including baseboards, corners, edges, and hard-to-reach areas.
- Address visible buildup, stains, spills, and other areas requiring additional attention.
- Maintain cleaning equipment, tools, and supplies in proper working condition.
- Follow all chemical handling, labeling, storage, and safety procedures.
- Report maintenance concerns, damages, supply shortages, and facility issues to management.
- Secure assigned areas and follow facility closing procedures when required.
- Complete assigned cleaning tasks within the scheduled service period.
Work Schedule
- Part-time evening position.
- Must be available one day of the weekend
- Monday through Friday, based on assigned facility requirements.
- Evening hours will be established according to the client's cleaning schedule.
- Must be available to work on-site during the assigned evening shift.
Requirements
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Must successfully complete all required background screenings in accordance with applicable laws and school district requirements.
- Ability to work independently and complete assigned cleaning tasks with minimal supervision.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining cleanliness standards.
- Ability to follow cleaning procedures, instructions, and safety protocols.
- Professional communication and dependable attendance.
- Ability to perform physical cleaning duties throughout the scheduled shift.
- Must comply with all school facility access, security, and safety requirements.
Qualifications
- No formal education required.
- Previous experience as a janitor, custodian, cleaner, or in a related position preferred.
- Must be trainable and willing to learn and work in accordance with the Del Sol Way.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
- Must be able to respond to cleaning needs and complete tasks efficiently.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Reliable transportation.
- Bonus: Working knowledge of commercial cleaning equipment, chemicals, floor-care procedures, and sanitation practices.
