Job Details

Responsibilities:

As a Consulting School Nurse, your key responsibilities will include:

1. Providing direct healthcare to students, including administering medications, providing first aid, and managing chronic diseases.
2. Collaborating with school staff, parents, and healthcare providers to develop individualized healthcare plans for students with chronic health conditions.
3. Promoting and implementing health and safety policies within the school setting.
4. Providing health education to students, staff, and parents on various topics, including nutrition, physical activity, and disease prevention.
5. Monitoring immunization records and conducting health screenings.
6. Serving as a liaison between the school, home, and community regarding health-related issues.
7. Participating in the development and implementation of emergency response procedures.
8. Advocating for the physical, emotional, and social health of students.

Qualifications:

To be considered for this exciting opportunity, candidates must possess the following qualifications:

1. Must be a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or a Registered Nurse (RN) with a current valid license.
2. Must have a National Certified School Nurse (NCSN) certification or equivalent.
3. Must hold a Certified Pediatric Nurse (CPN) certification or similar.
4. Must have a minimum of 5 years of nursing experience, preferably in a school or pediatric setting.
5. Must be CPR and BLS certified.
6. Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is strongly preferred.
7. Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with students, parents, and school staff.
8. Must have strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
9. Must have a strong commitment to promoting health and wellness in a school setting.
