PediaStaff is seeking a dedicated School-Based Occupational Therapist (OT) for a full-time opportunity in the Leonardtown, Maryland area! This position supports students across four schools in the southern portion of St. Mary's County, helping them develop the motor, sensory, and functional skills needed to succeed in the classroom.

Position Details

• Location: Leonardtown, MD area (Southern St. Mary's County)
• Pay Rate: $50–$60 per hour
• Schedule: Monday–Friday, approximately 8:30 AM–4:00 PM
• Hours: Full-time
• Start Date: ASAP
• End Date: June 11, 2027
• Setting: In-person, school-based
• School Locations: 4 schools in the southern portion of the county
• Caseload: Approximately 50 students
• Student Population: School-aged children

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct and consultative occupational therapy services to students across four school locations.
• Conduct evaluations to assess students' motor, sensory, and functional abilities.
• Develop and implement individualized therapy plans aligned with IEP goals.
• Support students with fine motor skills, sensory processing, coordination, and functional independence.
• Participate in IEP meetings and recommend appropriate accommodations and modifications.
• Collaborate with teachers, families, administrators, and multidisciplinary special education teams.
• Monitor student progress and maintain accurate therapy documentation.
• Help students develop the skills needed for greater independence and classroom participation.

Qualifications

• Degree in Occupational Therapy required.
• Active Maryland Occupational Therapist license required.
• Previous pediatric experience preferred.
• School-based occupational therapy experience strongly preferred.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage a caseload across multiple school locations.
