Job Overview – School Psychologist
Compensation: $70 – $85/hour

Schedule: Full-Time, Part-Time, or Per Diem (School Schedule)

TAG MedStaffing is urgently hiring a School Psychologist in New York, NY for our client, supporting psychoeducational evaluations and student mental health services within school settings. This role focuses on psychological testing, IEP development, and behavioral support, working closely with multidisciplinary school teams. The position follows the academic calendar and offers a structured school-based environment.

Responsibilities as the School Psychologist:

• Psychological Assessments: Conduct comprehensive psychoeducational evaluations to assess cognitive, academic, and social-emotional functioning.
• IEP Development: Interpret assessment results and contribute to IEP meetings with clear recommendations and goal setting.
• Student Support: Provide counseling and crisis intervention to support student mental health and behavioral needs.
• Collaboration: Partner with teachers, administrators, and families to implement effective intervention and support strategies.
• Documentation: Prepare detailed evaluation reports and maintain accurate records in compliance with school and regulatory guidelines.

Qualifications for the School Psychologist:

• Education: Master’s or Doctoral degree in School Psychology or a related field is required.
• Certification: New York State School Psychologist certification or eligibility is required.
• Experience: Prior experience conducting psychoeducational evaluations in school-based or clinical settings is preferred.
• Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of IEP processes, psychological testing methods, and student support frameworks is required.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency with psychological assessment tools and report writing systems is required.
• Skills & Attributes: Demonstrates strong analytical, communication, and collaboration skills with the ability to support diverse student populations.
