Amazon Fulfillment Technologies (AFT) powers the physical engine at the heart of Amazon. AFT builds and operates the software, hardware, and processes that run the global network of fulfillment centers - moving billions of units of inventory, employing tens of thousands of people, and ensuring customers get what they want, when we promised it. We do this by building automated solutions for the things technology does well, while relying on people for the things humans do well.

Our team owns the Inventory Management System (IMS) that tracks and manages inventory across Amazon"s global network of fulfillment centers. Every unit that moves through a fulfillment center depends on our systems to know what inventory exists, where it is, and whether it can be promised to a customer. Operating at this scale is uniquely complex: our systems must stay accurate and available in real time across billions of units and thousands of concurrent operations.

We are constantly innovating in how we track, reserve, and reconcile inventory - building on real-time events and data using cloud-based distributed systems. Our technology landscape spans cutting-edge AWS services and front-end technologies like React.
