Description:

The Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) will be responsible for ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of software products and solutions through the planning, development, execution, and documentation of testing activities. This role partners closely with Product Management, Software Development, Systems Engineering, and Project Management teams to verify requirements, develop test strategies, identify defects, and support continuous improvement throughout the product development lifecycle.

The SDET will analyze requirements, develop and execute manual and automated test cases, validate software functionality, participate in design and architecture reviews, and support the delivery of high-quality products that meet customer and regulatory requirements.

Position requires strong, hands-on experience developing automated tests for single-page browser applications - designing UI, end-to-end, integration, and regression tests with Playwright, and building automated API test cases with tools such as Postman or REST-assured. Responsibilities include automating test cases in TypeScript, JavaScript, or Python, and you've worked within agile testing practices, including TDD/BDD, with automated tests wired into CI/CD pipelines such as GitHub, GitLab, or Jenkins. Evaluate test coverage and results, define new test cases to close the gaps, and produce quality report.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related technical discipline.
• 5+ years of software testing, quality engineering, or software development experience.
• Experience with test automation frameworks and scripting languages.
• Experience with Agile software development methodologies.
• Knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and quality assurance best practices.
• Experience with defect tracking, requirements management, and test management tools.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience working with embedded systems, intelligent transportation systems (ITS), traffic management software, or industrial control systems preferred.
• Experience using AI-assisted engineering tools to develop, maintain, review, or improve automated test frameworks and test cases is a plus.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, execute, and maintain manual and automated test cases for software products and integrated transportation solutions.
• Analyze product requirements and specifications to define comprehensive test strategies and test coverage.
• Verify and validate requirements to ensure completeness, consistency, traceability, and testability.
• Participate in design reviews and technical discussions to identify quality risks and potential design issues early in the development lifecycle.
• Perform functional, integration, system, regression, and performance testing activities.
• Investigate, reproduce, document, and track software defects through resolution.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Software Engineers, Systems Engineers, and Project Managers to improve product quality and release readiness.
• Support continuous integration and automated testing initiatives.
• Analyze customer-reported issues and feedback to identify trends and quality improvements.
• Develop and maintain test documentation, test reports, and quality metrics.
• Contribute to the improvement of testing methodologies, development processes, and quality assurance standards.
• Coordinate and track assigned testing activities and deliverables.
