Seasonal Forklift Operator / General Laborer

SNELLING is seeking a dependable and safety-minded Forklift Operator to join a local company during its busy season. This position will primarily operate a forklift to move products and materials throughout the warehouse and production areas. The employee will also assist with general labor, cleaning, and other warehouse duties as needed.

This Forklift Operator position will be Temporary, meaning that SNELLING would work with you through the consideration and interview process and SNELLING would be your employer for the time of the project. Pay will be $16.00/hr.

The ideal candidate has forklift experience, follows directions well, pays close attention to their surroundings, and is willing to jump in and help the team without being prompted.

Job Responsibilities

• Safely operate a forklift to move, load, unload, and organize products and materials
• Transport materials to and from production and warehouse areas
• Place products in the correct locations
• Monitor products and surroundings for damage, safety concerns, or anything out of the ordinary
• Assist with loading and unloading deliveries as needed
• Help maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
• Perform general labor and warehouse duties when not operating the forklift
• Support production activities based on daily needs
• Follow all instructions, procedures, and workplace safety guidelines
• Step in and help with different tasks without needing to be prompted

Qualifications

• Previous forklift operating experience required (sit-down propane forklift)
• Strong attention to detail and awareness of surroundings
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
• Good judgment and common sense
• Dependable, hardworking, and punctual
• Positive attitude and strong work ethic
• Willingness to perform general labor and a variety of warehouse duties
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Commitment to operating equipment safely and responsibly

Physical and Work Environment Requirements

• Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and remain active for most of the shift
• Must be comfortable working in a warehouse and production environment
• Warehouse temperatures may be hot or cold depending on the season
• Must be comfortable working around an active production line and moving equipment
• Must be willing and able to perform general labor and cleaning duties as needed

Schedule

• Monday–Thursday: 7:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m.
• Friday: 7:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m.
• Saturdays as required based on production needs: 7:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m.

Candidates must be flexible and available to work required Saturdays when needed.

Assignment Length

This is a temporary seasonal position, with the busiest period typically running from November through January. Staffing needs and schedules may decrease after January, but opportunities may be available for dependable employees to continue working through June.
